If you like optical illusions, you’ll love our Thaumatrope Workshop !

Before the invention of movie films, people made their own moving images with clever little devices like thaumatropes.

Now you can make your own version of this popular Victorian toy, courtesy of the education staff from the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art. Islington Libraries and the Estorick have got together to produce a free workshop for 4 to 11 year olds during the February half-term holiday.

The workshop is at the Central Library, 2 Fieldway Crescent, N5 1PF on Thursday 16 February from 2 to 4pm. There are 15 places and you can book a place by contacting the Central Library on 020 7527 6900 or centrallending.lib@islington.gov.uk
