Islington Council understands that residents might be particularly interested in what's happening in the area they live in, so this section is designed to bring together some information about your local area.
Most local information is broken down by ward. If you are not sure which ward you live in have a look at the Find My Nearest page. Enter your postcode or street name in the search box, then click on your address in the results; the name of the ward you live in will be displayed in the information for your address.
Islington Council and local police are working together to produce Safer newsletters which include information on local policing, and updates on work and priorities in your area. The most recent newsletters are available to download below. We want to keep you informed of crime and safety in your area and how we are tackling it. You can also keep an eye on our webpages and the council magazine for residents - IslingtonLife - for regular information about crime and safety.
Neighbourhood policing is carried out by 16 Safer Neighbourhoods Teams, these are ward-based teams made up of 6 Police and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs). Their aim is to listen and talk to you, and find out what affects your daily life and how you feel when you're out and about in Islington. These might be issues such as anti-social behaviour, graffiti, noisy neighbourhoods, yobs or vandalism. They then work in partnership with you and other agencies to find a lasting solution. If you have concerns about day-to-day crime and disorder issues, or if you would like to get involved, please contact your local team.
Local initiatives to tackle anti-social behaviour are co-ordinated at multi-agency MAGPI meetings. To find out more visit the MAGPI pages.
