On the big day you should arrive at least 15 minutes before your ceremony
appointment. The registrar will then interview you both, separately from your
guests, before the ceremony begins. The registrar will verify the details that
appear on the marriage authorities or civil partnership schedule and on any
subsequent certificates produced.
If not already taken at the time of giving notice, the registrar will ask you
for the full names and occupations of both your natural or adoptive fathers.
Once these preliminaries have been completed the ceremony can begin with the
guests being invited in to join you, as in Room 99, or perhaps walking in
together or with the bride on the arm of her father as you may choose to do in
the Council Chamber.
