Children's Board

The Children’s Board approves the Children and Young Peoples’ Plan. This sets out the priorities for the Children’s Partnership and how these link with the Sustainable Community Strategy. Their overall objective is to improve the well-being of children and young people in Islington, and to narrow the gap in outcomes between those who do well and those who do not. Their aim is that all children are healthy, safe, can enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve social and economic wellbeing.

The Children’s Board is a partnership between

  • Islington Council

  • Islington Primary Care Trust

  • Community and voluntary sector representatives

  • Parents

  • Schools

  • Police

The Children's Board has responsibility for delivery of a range of indicators that fall mostly within the Children and Young People’s block of the Local Area Agreement (LAA).
