Animal Welfare

The Animal Welfare Service can give help or advice about the care of animals. The service also investigates complaints about stray dogs, dangerous dogs and animal cruelty.

Stray Dogs

If you find a stray dog between 9.00am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday, call the Animal Welfare Service on 020 7527 3222. Outside of these hours please contact 07825 098947 and we will arrange to collect the dog. Please note that outside of office hours we only collect dogs which have been confined.

To report an animal which may have been abandoned in a property, or a suspected incident of animal cruelty, please use the online form under Do it online. Do not use the online form in emergency cases.

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home

The lost dogs and cats line uses a central database for people who have lost or found a pet in London and matches up or reunites pets with owners. They have a contract with the police to pick up dogs from all boroughs, so many people do not realise their pet could be at Battersea.
