Lunch Bunch holiday activities with food
This summer, Islington Council is offering eligible young people free activities with food during the school holidays – our Lunch Bunch programme.
Check if you are eligible, find out what's on and book a place on the Lunch Bunch page.
Under 5s
Bright Start activities for under 5s, and siblings up to 8, will be running over the summer holidays including stay and play sessions indoors and outdoors, and activities in parks and community venues.
Under 13s
Islington’s libraries offer lots of family-friendly activities over the school summer holidays, many of them around the theme of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, 'Ready, Set, Read!'. The activities are all about getting children aged 4 to 11 to engage in games and sports in any way that suits them. All activities are free, and materials are provided for craft events. The challenge launches on Saturday 8 July 2023, so look out for details of events in your local library and sign up, or ask a member of staff.
Islington's Adventure Playgrounds are free to access and are fun, safe and exciting for children aged six and up. They give children the opportunity to socialise with other kids, burn off energy and boost their physical and emotional health. There's no need to book a visit, but children should be registered first.

Teens aged 13 and over
Young people aged 13+ living in Islington can sign up for Summerversity.
There are over 90 courses on offer including arts, media and technology, cooking, t-shirt and trainer design, bike repair, and sport and fitness. We allocate places so that everyone who applies on time will get a chance to do at least two courses. We recommend that you register and book as soon as possible. Most activities are suitable for complete beginners with no previous experience required.
Young adults aged 16 and over
The Launchpad programme for young people aged 16+ offers a range of free courses and workshops to help young people learn new skills, get careers advice and gain new experiences to add to their CV.
