Fireworks Licences and Registrations

The Manufacture and Storage of Explosives Regulations 2005 (MSER) means that businesses wishing to sell fireworks need to register with the council.

Generally to store and sell fireworks you require a registration or licence from Islington Council. A registration limits the quantity you can store and sell. It only allows you to sell fireworks during the following periods:

• 15 October - 10 November
• 26 December - 1 January
• Chinese New Year (4 days before, including the day of Chinese New Year)
• Diwali (4 days before, including the day of Diwali )
  

If you want to sell fireworks all year round, or outside the periods listed above, you will require an additional licence that costs £500.
