Before awarding a contract we have to be satisfied that you:
can supply the relevant goods or services or perform the necessary works
offer value for money, balancing quality and cost
have experience of similar contracts
have quality accreditations where relevant
know about relevant products and understand markets
have an environmental policy and/or consider environmental impacts
have a health and safety policy and
have an equal opportunities policy
Best value does not necessarily mean awarding contracts to those who quote the lowest price. It takes account of the overall value of the contract for the entire period of the contract and the quality of the services that will be delivered, so high-quality public services are delivered for the best possible price.
When awarding contracts, we will consider the potential risks and full costs associated with the buying of any works, goods or services.
In the 'Downloadable Documents' section below you will find guidance on a variety of important issues to consider when applying for opportunities with the council.
Islington Council aims to provide equality of opportunity and welcomes applicants from black and minority ethnic communities and disabled groups. In addition the council actively encourages voluntary and community sector organisations, social enterprises or not for profit organisations and small to medium sized enterprises to tender as part of its sustainability policy. See the documents below for your information.
