Dog breeding licence

Any premises in Islington that's used for dog breeding must apply for a licence from us.

A licence is required for any premises where more than two bitches are kept for the purposes of breeding for sale of their offspring. 

The licence lasts for 12 months and must be renewed before its expiry date.

After you apply

Premises must be inspected by a council officer and a vet before a licence can be issued. 

The right to appeal

If your application is refused, please contact us in the first instance. You can appeal at the local magistrates’ court.
