You don't have to be big to give something back
Over the past 15 years there has been a large-scale drive to encourage big
firms to support employee volunteering and, as a result, many well-known names
like Marks and Spencer and Barclays have employee volunteering programmes.
They
recognise the benefits to the company and staff in employee morale, staff
retention and productivity as well as increasing the business reputation and
branding.
But you don't need the budget of a multinational corporation to give something back to the community or to sponsor staff in their voluntary work. By supporting Islington’s community based organisations and initiatives you can help build the social and economic fabric of the borough.
Often the reason small companies don’t get involved in community activity is that they don’t know who to approach locally.
From helping primary school children with their reading to giving young people work experience at your business, there are many ways you can get involved with helping the community grow and develop along with your business.
Use the links in the Related Information section at the right hand side of this page to find out about projects bringing businesses and the community together or to get in touch with any of the hundreds of voluntary and community organisations in the borough.
