Healthy eating workshops at Whitecross Street Market

Visitors to one of London's oldest markets are being offered free workshops on eating healthily and safely with produce from the stalls.

The Eat Your Market events invite people to tour the weekly food market in Whitecross Street and then enjoy a taste demonstration using ingredients from the market.

They are also given hygiene tips in the free sessions, run by Islington Council in partnership with Community Kitchens Project and funded by EC1 New Deal for Communities.

The final Eat Your Market event will be held from 12pm-2pm on Thursday 25 September. There will be another special event at Christmas.

The weekly food market in Whitecross Street is held on Thursdays and Friday between 11am-5pm, and the general market - which also offers some takeaway food - on Mondays to Fridays.
