Designated Premises Supervisor

Designated Premises Supervisor

All licensed premises that sell alcohol need to have a Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS), who is responsible for all alcohol sales on the premises.

The DPS is named on the premises licence and must be a current personal licence holder. He or she must also complete a form to consent being named as the designated premises supervisor on the premises licence.

If the DPS stops working at the premises, he or she must inform the council that licenses the premises and the premises licence holder, using the two separate forms listed below. The premises licence holder must then apply to vary the designated premises supervisor named on the premises licence.

The full titles of the respective documents listed below are as follows:

  • form to consent to being specified as premises supervisor on a premises licence;
  • application form for premises licence holder to vary the DPS on a premises licence;
  • request to the council for a DPS to be removed from a premises licence;
  • notification for the DPS to inform premises that you wish to be removed from the premises licence.

Payments for licensing applications can now be made by debit or credit cards by telephoning the Licensing Team on 020 7527 3031.
