GPs

General Practioners, or GPs as they are more commonly known, are often the first people that Islington residents turn to when they have a health problem.

Based in surgeries and health centres across the borough, patients have to be registered before they can visit a doctor.

NHS Islington supervises GPs in the area and has a comprehensive list of doctors. For more information and to search for GPs in your area click on the Registering with a Doctor link under Useful Websites.

You can see a map of GP surgeries in the borough by following the link to Interactive Maps on the right of this page. Select Health from the list on the right and tick the box next to Doctors. You can then use the 'identify' tool to display details of each surgery.
