Funding Bid

Funding Bid

Each year the council bids to Transport for London (TfL) for funding to implement specific schemes. This bidding process is called the Local Implementation Plan Annual Progress Report (LIP APR), previously the Local Implementation Plan Reporting and Funding (LIP R and F) submission and the Borough Spending Plan (BSP) process.

This funding spans a range of projects across the Environment and Regeneration department. Projects cover areas such as road safety, highways and bridge maintenance, public transport improvements, as well as measures to promote green travel, improve cycle lanes and promote greater accessibility within the transport environment.

The council’s submissions for 2007-08 and 2008-09 received £5.7 and £4.4 million respectively.

The LIP APR funding submission is closely linked to the Sustainable Transport Strategy (Local Implementation Plan) for Islington, which outlines detailed transport policies, proposals and programmes up to 2016.
