Sustainable Transport Strategy

Final Sustainable Transport Strategy 2006-2016

The Sustainable Transport Strategy for Islington sets out the council's policies, proposals and programmes to improve Islington's transport environment over the ten year period from 2006 to 2016. The strategy was approved by the Mayor of London in October 2006 and adopted by the council's Executive in December 2006, and fulfils Islington's requirement to develop and adopt a Local Implementation Plan (LIP).

The strategy can be downloaded , chapter-by-chapter, from the links below. You can also view a summary of the Sustainable Transport Strategy.

Consultation on the draft strategy was carried out in May, June and July 2005. To view the Consultation Draft version of the Sustainable Transport Strategy, click on the Consultation Draft link under the main navigation list on the left side of this page.

The council submits annual bids to Transport for London based on the adopted strategy. To view recent annual bids, click on the Funding Bid to TfL link under the main navigation list on the left side of this page.
