Drivers can Pay by Phone for short stay parking across Islington. This allows you to pay for your parking using your mobile phone without needing to worry about having the right change. Use your Smartphone to scan the QR code on the right and link directly to the Pay by Phone website.
Instead of having to put money in a pay and display machine, you can call us and charge it to your debit or credit card. We can also send you a reminder text message so that you will know when your parking time is about to end. If you need you can then use your phone to top-up without having to return to your car.
Pay by Phone parking is available at every short stay parking bay in the borough.
You will need to sign up first in order to use the service:

Islington Council provides over 3,000 short stay bays for parking in the borough. You can see where they are located by following the interactive maps link on the right.
The cost of parking in a short stay bay varies from £1.20 to £6.00 per hour depending on how busy the area is. You can check the price of a pay and display bay on Interactive Map or check this list of every pay and display tariff in the borough.
Vehicles must not be left in a short stay bay without having paid for parking.
If the a pay and display machine displays 'Out of Order' or fails to issue a ticket you must purchase one from the nearest available machine, or use Pay by Phone.
Short stay bays may be suspended for highways works, special events or other reasons. You must therefore check the sign each time you park. Any vehicle parked in a suspended bay is liable, even if payment has ben made, to receive a parking ticket and may also be removed.
To find the locations of short stay bays in Islington follow the Interactive Maps link on the right.
We are currently trialling a scheme in parking zones A and C to allow drivers to pay for short stay parking via PayPoint at shops across the zones.
Drivers can still pay at machines that take coins or cards, or by Pay-by-Phone as well as PayPoint. Some machines will stop taking cash payment.
A display on the pay and display machine shows where to find the nearest PayPoint shop. These maps of zone A and zone C also show where participating PayPoint outlets are located.
