If you are a general practitioner (GP) with a surgery in Islington, you may apply for a doctors parking bay and permit.
Surgeries can apply for a bay by contacting us directly on 020 7527 1358. Doctors bays are only intended to facilitate essential vehicle use relating to health care emergencies.
We usually only allocate one bay for each practice but permits to use them can have more than one vehicle on them.
Bays will be allocated following a review of parking availability in the area and after taking into consideration other factors such as if applicants already hold resident permits.
There is a charge of £2,200 to consult on, design, and put a doctors bay in place.
If your application is successful, installation can regrettably be a lengthy process. This is because as we are required to consult local people first and then need to complete a number of legal documents before the bay can be put in place.
You need to have a doctors bay before you can apply for a permit. If a surgery already has a bay you may apply for a permit by calling 020 7527 6126. A permit may have more than one vehicle on it to enable a surgery to provide emergency cover on a rota basis. Doctors permits cannot be used for commuter parking.
A permit to use a doctors bay costs £210.
Permission to park notices are also available to help doctors to park in Islington.
They provide all day parking in resident bays, business bays, and pay and display bays.
Permission to park notices may be purchased at the following rates:
You can buy a permission to park notice online. You will need to enter your personal and vehicle details and your credit card number. You will then be able to immediately print off a permission to park to display on your dashboard.
