Street Parking - Pay and Display

Islington Council provides over 3,000 pay and display parking bays for short stay visitors to the borough. You can see where they are located by using the link to the interactive maps link on the right.

The cost of parking in a pay and display bay varies from £1.20 to £4 per hour depending on how busy they are and you can check the price of a pay and display machine on the interactive map.

Vehicles must not be left in a pay and display bay without displaying a valid pay and display ticket.

If the pay and display machine displays 'Out of Order' or fails to issue a pay and display ticket you must purchase a pay and display ticket from the nearest available machine.

Pay and display bays may be suspended for highways works, special events or other reasons. You must therefore check the pay and display sign each time you park. Any vehicle parked in a suspended bay is liable, even if a pay and display ticket is displayed, to receive a penalty charge notice (parking ticket) and may also be removed.
