Street Parking - Clamping and Removal

Street Parking - Clamping and Removal

Clamping Vehicles

We rarely use clamps in Islington. In fact Islington Council was the first in London to abandon the practice of clamping illegally parked vehicles (we were also the last to introduce it).

We do occasionally use clamps but only for illegally parked persistent offenders or where a driver is committing permit fraud or abuse. Illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed or even removed if causing an obstruction but we only clamp in these specific circumstances.

To pay for the release of a clamp or to collect a vehicle we have removed you will need to visit our vehicle pound at:

83 - 105 Clifton Street
London
EC2A 4LG
Tel: 020 7527 1381

Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

Please note the vehicle pound is located within the congestion charging zone.

Removing Vehicles

On occasion, we remove dangerously or illegally parked vehicles from the street. When we remove a vehicle, we take it to our vehicle pound and immediately notify TRACE, which holds details of illegally parked vehicles that have been removed by local authorities or Transport for London (TfL).

Vehicles may also be removed as a result of TfL’s congestion charging scheme. Visit the TfL website or phone 0845 900 1234 for details.

Drivers unsure of whether a vehicle has been impounded may call TRACE on 020 7747 4747 which holds details all of vehicles removed within the London area.

To pay for the release of a clamp or to collect a vehicle we have removed you will need to visit our vehicle pound at:
