Parking Permits

Your application

If you have given information that you know to be incorrect or incomplete, you may receive a penalty charge notice and your vehicle could be removed. This will involve additional costs to release the vehicle.

Please note:

You are responsible for the renewal of your parking permit.

A council officer will check the details you have provided before issuing your permit.

If you enter an incorrect engine size or CO2 emissions, your application may be subject to delay or cancellation.

If you have outstanding penalty charge notices in your name for your vehicle, your application may be delayed or refused.

You must return any permits that are out of date or that you no longer want to use.

If you change your vehicle or move to a different address you should complete a new application form.

The conditions of use for permits and vouchers are printed on the reverse. Please read them.

Proof of residence and vehicle ownership must be provided before permits or vouchers (other than a 14 day holding permit) can be issued.

Permits are only valid for the times, dates and registration number of the vehicle printed on the permit.

You must only park within the markings of an on-street resident parking bay or shared use parking bay in the zone where the permit is valid.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you do not park on red routes, restricted streets, dedicated blue badge bays, suspended bays, doctors bays, car club and business bays, bays within a housing estate or yellow lines and abide by any parking restrictions imposed by the police, statutory laws and regulations.

Any parking spaces may be suspended by police officers, traffic wardens or council officers.

Your vehicle will be clamped or removed if the permit is altered, copied, defaced or modified in any way.

A resident parking permit does not guarantee a parking space.

The 14 day holding permit is only valid for a maximum of 14 days. You cannot apply for consecutive 14 days permits for the same vehicle(s). Also you cannot use 14 day permits consecutively in the same vehicle(s).

Permit and Visitor Voucher Refunds

Permit refunds are made in accordance with current rules and regulations and will be for full months only.

Voucher refunds are only issued on the return of full, unused books of visitor vouchers.

A £20 administration charge will be deducted from refunds for customers who fail to provide adequate proof of residency, or in the case of concessionary applications, proof of age.

Permission to Park Permits

This permit allows you to park in a Resident Parking Bay, Business Bay, Pay and Display Bay and Shared Use Bay (shared residents parking/pay and display and shared business/pay and display bays).

Unused permission to parks will only be considered for refunds in specific circumstances.

The Council will not offer refunds for any Permissions issued or printed in error, nor will it offer refunds for Permissions that are no longer required.
