Below is a list of the documentation we require for specific permit and voucher applications.
We do not need the original documents – you should only send us copies. We also only need one of the following to prove your residence and one to show the vehicle is registered at your address.
Please note: you must send us your documentation immediately you print off your 14 day holding permit.
Resident Permits
Address
- Council tax bill for the current tax year
- Current gas, water, electricity or landline telephone bill (last 3 months)
- Driving licence (use this for address and age)
- Tenancy agreement
- Department for Work and Pensions letter (dated within the last 6 months)
Vehicle
- Car Insurance schedule document
- Registration Document (V5)
- Company letter (if company vehicle)
- Hire agreement
Discounts and Concessions – copies only
Address (one of):
Council tax bill for the current tax year
- Current gas, water, electricity or landline telephone bill/welcome letter (last 3 months)
- Driving licence (use this for address and age)
- Tenancy agreement
- Department for Work and Pensions letter
Age and/or allowance (one of):
- Birth certificate
- Freedom Pass
- Passport
- DWP letter confirming award of Disability Living Allowance, Incapacity benefit and/ or pension
- Taxi card (link) www.taxicard.org.uk
Licensed Hackney Carriage
If you are claiming a black taxi operator’s discount a copy of your taxi badge will be required, plus:

- Department for Work and Pensions letter (dated within the last 6 months)

New Parents
To claim your vouchers you will have to send a copy of your baby’s birth or adoption certificate, or have the voucher application form signed by a registrar
