Giant Green Awards

These days, the environment is big is on every business’s agenda.

The question of how to fight the effect carbon emissions is having on climate change – now the greatest threat facing us today – is giving birth to some highly imaginative and innovative schemes.

In Islington, we think businesses doing their bit should get a bit more than a pat on the back. They should be rewarded.

For this reason, Islington Council has launched an award scheme that

  • identifies the best eco-companies and champions their work

  • encourages others not to just equal these efforts, but beat them

Events

The awards ceremony will be held at the Honourable Artillery Company, on Monday 2 June. Armoury House in Finsbury, near to Old Street and Moorgate stations, has been the home of the Honourable Artillery Company since the central block was completed in 1735 on land the Company acquired in 1641. It is a Grade II* listed building of special historic interest.

Guests will be served with drinks and canapés in the medals room, and the main awards ceremony and dinner will take place in the Long Room.

The HAC is located on City Road, very near to Old Street and Moorgate stations.
