Barnard Park
Copenhagen Street, N1
Area: 3.66 hectares (9.04 acres)
Large open park containing a good size playground with water play feature. There is also an adventure playground and redgra football pitch.
Nearest Stations: Caledonian Road (Piccadilly line), Caledonian Road and Barnsbury (Silverlink)
Buses: 153 and 274 to Copenhagen Street / 17, 91 and 259 to Caledonian Road


Caledonian Park
Market Road, N7
Area: 7.40 hectares, (18.27 acres)
Large open grass areas surrounded by native conservation woodland. Once the site of the old Cattle Market and still retains the original cast iron railings and working Clocktower.
Nearest Station: Caledonian Road (Piccadilly line)
Buses: 274 to Market Road / 390 to York Way / 17, 91, 259 and 274 to Caledonian Road / 29 and 253 to Camden Road


Edward Square
Caledonian Road, N7
Area: 0.45 hectares, (1.11 acres)
Green Flag Award winner, Edward Square opened in March 2000. Tthe park is popular with the local community, schools and youth groups With play equipment suitable for toddlers as well as a flat area of grass – great for a kick-about, ample seating and space for picnics and areas to attract wild life there is something for everyone.
From May until November a number of events are held in the park. With an active Friends Group community involvement is at the heart of the success of this park.

Elthorne Park

Area: 2.45 hectares, (6.06 acres)
Peace garden, trim trail, conservation, playground, children's play area and astroturf football pitch.
Nearest Station: Archway (Northern line, five minutes walk)

Finsbury Square
Finsbury Square, EC2
Area: 0.70 hectares, (1.74 acres)
Bowling green and city oasis, great for picnic lunches.
Nearest station: Moorgate (Northern, Circle, Hammersmith and City lines, Thameslink, WAGN)

Fortune Street Park
Fortune Street, EC1
Area: 0.36 hectares, (0.89 acres)
Green Flag Award winner with playground facilities, rose gardens and lawns. Very popular lunchtime spot in the summer.
Nearest Station: Old Street
Buses: 4, 56, 153 to Goswell Road


Gillespie Park
Drayton Park, N5
Area: 2.56 hectares, (6.32 acres)
Green Flag Award winner, Gillespie Park Ecology Centre provides education for schools, events and courses for the public, and advice on all aspects of sustainable living. One of three local nature reserves, it contains a range of beautiful wildlife habitats including woodland, meadow, wetland and ponds. Closed on Arsenal match days.
Nearest stations: Arsenal (Piccadilly line), Finsbury Park (Victoria line), Drayton Park

Highbury Fields
Highbury Crescent, N5
Area: 11.75 hectares, (29.00 acres)
Islington's largest open space, with tennis courts, football pitch and a well-used children's play area.
Nearest Station: Highbury and Islington (Victoria line/ Silverlink Metro/ WAGN).
Buses: 4, 19, 30, 43, 236, 271, 277, 393 to Highbury Corner / 4, 19 and 236 to Highbury Grove


Laycock Street Open Space
Laycock Street, N1
Area: 0.89 hectares, (2.20 acres)
Open grass area with island shrub beds. Contains a small playground and kickabout area.
Nearest Station:Highbury and Islington (Victoria line/ Silverlink Metro/ WAGN)
Buses: 4, 19, 30 and 43 to Upper Street / 271, 277, 393 to Highbury Corner


New River Walk
Canonbury Grove, N1
Area: 1.41 hectares, (3.48 acres)
Long linear park, following line of New River from St Paul's Road to Canonbury Road.

Buses: 277 and 30 to St Paul's Road / 271 to Canonbury Road / 38, 56, 73, 341 and 476 to Essex Road

Newington Green
Newington Green Rd, N5
Area: 0.69 hectares, (1.70 acres)
Green Flag Award and Green Heritage Award winner Newington Green is situated on the border of Islington and Hackney. It was re-opened in May 2005 following an extensive redevelopment programme. The park has a modern playground, café and toilet. Seating is arranged so groups can sit together facing each other with surrounding lawns where children can play.
There are also a number of larger events held throughout the year including International Jazz Festival.

Paradise Park
Sheringham Road, N7
Area: 1.85 hectares, (4.57 acres)
Green Flag Award winner that contains a playground with water play feature and a peace garden with a petanque pitch and chess tables. There is also a football pitch. Next door is the Freightliners City Farm, suitable for children of all ages.
Nearest Stations: Caledonian Road (Piccadilly line), Highbury and Islington (Victoria line/ Silverlink Metro/ WAGN)
Buses: 153 to MacKenzie Road / 43, 271, 393 to Holloway Road 17, 91, 259 and  274 to Caledonian Road


Rosemary Gardens
Southgate Road, N1
Area: 2.63 hectares, (6.48 acres)
Large park with playground containing sandpit and water feature. The site also has a large astroturf football pitch and two tennis courts.

Tufnell Park Playing Fields
Campdale Road, N7
Area: 1.92 hectares, (4.73 acres)
Popular site for ball games with grass football pitch as well as tennis courts.
Nearest station: Tufnell Park (Northern line)
Buses: 4 to Tufnell Park Road / 134 and 390 to Junction Road

Whittington Park
Holloway Road, N19
Area: 4.09 hectares, (10.11 acres)
Green Flag Award winner with popular large play area, games area, children's play area and conservation site, astroturf football pitch and outdoor gym equipment.
Nearest stations:Upper Holloway (Silverlink Metro), Archway (Northern line)
