Community Benefit - Section 106
The Arsenal planning permissions are related to a Section 106 agreement dated
21 March 2003. This ensures that various regeneration and community benefits
are provided for Islington residents.
It relates to a wide range of community benefits and includes:

contracts and construction jobs for local people
-
provision of over 1,000 affordable and key worker homes
-
over 4,000 new residents contributing to the local economy
-
Aubert Court Estate improvements
-
new commercial space
-
new learning centre at Northern Triangle
-
new day nurseries
-
new community health facilities in the Highbury/Holloway Road area
-
funding to promote community and social regeneration
-
Arsenal Development Small Grants Fund for local community groups
-
improvements in Ringcross Area at Lough Road West
-
development of derelict sites
-
public open space around the stadium and in the area
-
new Waste Recycling Centre and i-recycle educational centre
-
increase in visitors to local bars, pubs, restaurants and shops
