
The grant programme
SportIslington was formed in 2007 to help sports clubs and young sportspeople in the borough of Islington develop within their chosen sports. Each year Islington Council allocate £20,000 to SportIslington to administer an inclusive and comprehensive grants scheme.
SportIslington also enjoy a succesfull partnership with SportsAid, allocating larger grants to young people who are competing at a national level within their chosen sport. To apply for funding please see the SportIslington website in the useful websites section on the right hand side of this page.
How SportIslington works for you
SportIslington is run and managed by a volunteer committee with administrative help from Islington Council. The committee donate their time to reviewing grant applications and searching for further funding opportunities to help groups and individuals within Islington.
Becoming a member of SportIsllington is free and members are entitled to vote at the AGM and take up positions on the committee, including; chairperson, secretary, treasurer and executive grant officers.
The SportIslington website
The SportIslington website was created to allow users to find out about all aspects of community sport in Islington.
Guest users can look at local sports news, browse the emerging club directory and find out about the grant application process. Members can apply for grants online, download resources on club development, add and amend club directory entries and discover further funding avenues amongst many other benefits.
