Westlaw UK is an authoritative and fully searchable source of legal information, including legislation (consolidated and dating back to 1267), law reports, and legal journals, as well as news and business information. It also gives access to titles such as Archbold's Criminal Pleading and The Civil Procedure ('White Book').
COBRA is for anyone who is thinking of starting up or currently running a small business. The site hosts new business ideas, practical information on running a business, details of sources of support and finance, and a legal library covering laws and regulations affecting small businesses. Detailed UK market synopses cover key trends and future developments across more than 60 market sectors.
MintUK provides access to a wide range of business information, including:
Companies: Covers over 3.5 million companies throughout the UK, including all active companies and half a million unincorporated businesses. Includes up to 10 years’ of financial data per company. Mailing lists can be created using a range of criteria such as location, number of employees, turnover, or industry sector. These can be saved onto a memory stick or e-mailed (a maximum of 500 companies can be downloaded per person per day).
Market research: Over 160 UK industry profiles from Datamonitor, presented in a consistent format and including information on the market, its size, companies' market share, the competitive landscape and forecasts for the sector.
Directors: Information on both current and previous directors of UK businesses, including home address, date of birth and nationality. Biographical information for directors of listed companies.
News: Coverage of wider events, not just company news. Articles taken from the Financial Times newspaper, the FT Intelligence Wire UK & Ireland, and Reuters. Recent merger and acquisition activity from BvD's ZEPHYR. Regional and trade press included.
