Many improvements have been made to make our libraries more accessible. You'll find full access details for each library, as well as information on equipment and services available, by clicking the Local Libraries link under Related Information (on the right side of this page).
If you are unable to get to a library then the Home Library Service is available, which will bring the library service to you. Click the link under Related Information, right, for details.
At all Islington libraries there are:
You can also go to Reading Sight - www.readingsight.org.uk which has been created to help libraries support people with sight loss.
Also on this site is Your Reading Choices - http://www.readingsight.org.uk/reading_tools/your_reading_choices which can help you to find books, newspapers and magazines in a format suitable for you and your level of vision.
All libraries have a community information resource with advice and information on everyday issues, often in the form of leaflets which can be taken away. Information for disabled people (including those with learning difficulties) covers areas of concern such as mobility and access, benefits and financial help, training and employment, leisure and holidays, children with special needs and carers. We can also refer you to local groups, facilities and services.
For more information you can visit Islington's searchable database of local information The Directory of Local Services
Click the link under Do It on the right, to access The Directory of Local Services and begin a search.
We have a range of online resources that you can access free from your computer at home. General reference sources, newspapers - past and current, business information...try them out. Just click on the link above or under related information to the right.
