Services for Adults

Services for Adults

Islington Library and Information Service offers a comprehensive lending service to adults (over 18 years) who work, live or study in the borough of Islington. Young people aged between 13-17 years inclusive can use the adult lending service with restricted privileges.

Our libraries provide a large collection of books, cassettes, CDs, DVDs and online resources aimed at meeting the diverse general education, leisure, cultural and information needs of all of the community. Many of these are available in community languages.

We try to satisfy the whole spectrum of needs. As well as reference and information material, you will find plenty of popular material in paperback such as science-fiction, fantasy, thrillers, romances and westerns. We also stock graphic novels.

Our online catalogue enables you to find out whether the item that you want is in stock at any of our libraries.

To view the catalogue you can click on the link to the right, under Useful Websites.

A reservation system is provided including access to material held in national and international inter-lending schemes. Select the link under Related Information on the right to find out more about reservations.

As part of the adult service, you can also find information about services for older people, disabled people and for people from ethnic minorities.

If you have any comments or suggestions to make on the service we provide, please contact your local library, (click the link to the right for details of your closest library), or:
