First Steps Learning Centre

The First Steps Learning Centre is part of the Islington Online network of neighbourhood learning centres and is situated in Islington's Central Library. Some of the equipment available for use in the centre includes: 10 PCs, laptops, black and white and colour printers, a scanner, digital camera, high-speed internet access and a CD writer.

The centre offers a relaxed environment where you can attend our study support sessions and learn at a time and pace which suits you. There is always a member of staff available to help. All the services within the centre are free to Islington residents, including internet access. Complete beginners are welcome!

There are a range of structured courses on offer such as ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) and CLAIT (Computer Literacy and Information Technology) as well as ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), literacy support, creative and Personal Development courses

If you would like to find out more about the centre, book yourself in for a free confidential induction, information and advice session with Sinead on Wednesday afternoons between 2pm and 4pm. Bookings can be made either over the phone or in person during our Study Support times. The centre is also available for hire as a training suite.
