Joining the Library

Libraries are free, and very easy to join - fill in a simple form and you will be issued with your library card straight away. Anyone can join an Islington library, regardless of whether you live in the borough.

You can apply for membership using the online form on this website. Click the link below, fill in your details and then click 'Send' at the bottom of the summary page.

Alternatively, you can download a prepared membership form by clicking the link at the bottom of this page. Print, complete and return it to your local library (click the Libraries, Opening Hours and Contacts link on the left for details of the one closest to you).

Your Membership Card

You can use your membership card at any Islington library. Please don't allow anyone else to use it. Don't forget to bring your card with you if you intend to borrow items.

Your card features your unique library membership number. It will be required whenever you renew items - in person at the library, online, by email, or over the phone - when you wish to place reservations on items, or book a computer.

If you change your address or lose your card please let us know as soon as possible.

Please look after items borrowed on your library card. You will be charged for any items that are damaged or lost.
