Islington Museum, on St John Street, displays the borough's history, famous residents and changing exhibitions.
London Metropolitan Archives, in Northampton Road, has an extensive photographic collection and historic London archives.
Marx Memorial Library, in Clerkenwell Green, is a Socialist library and archive in the oldest building on the Green.
Museum of Childhood, in Cambridge Heath Road, houses the UK's national collection of toys, games and children's costume.
St John's Museum, in St. Johns Lane, tells the story of the Knights of the Order of St John. Regular guided tours through the week include the ancient crypt in Grand Priory Church and inside the 16th century gatehouse.
The Oak Room, in Rosebery Avenue, is an exquisite room with wood carvings attributed to Grinling Gibbons inside a housing development. The room is open to the public four times a year.
