Home Shelter is a scheme to help those who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence to stay in their homes, by offering them practical safety measures to secure their homes and information and advice on how to protect themselves.
Sometimes people who experience domestic violence become homeless, as they do not feel safe enough in their current accommodation and have no alternative other than temporary accommodation. Home Shelter helps families to break this downward spiral, and gives them the chance to maintain work, school and community networks that are vital sources of support.
If you need to talk to someone about domestic violence, contact Solace Women’s Aid on 0208 2690 2121.
In an emergency always dial 999.
For further information and ways we can help, click on the link for Domestic Violence on the left in Main Menu.
If you are experiencing domestic violence or have experienced domestic violence and are worried that you are still at risk, Home Shelter may be able to help you.
Your safety needs will be initially assessed and we will then install additional security measures such as solid doors, extra locks and grills.
Although, we can't directly help you with legal advice, we can refer you to other organisations who can help.
If you have a disability, this is taken into account when you contact us.
