The New Generation Scheme can help anyone over 18 who is an Islington resident living with their family in a social rented home.
Anyone over 18 who has been a member of an Islington Council or housing association household for at least the last five years. You need to prove your address for each of the last five years. For each year you must provide two documents proving your address, from two difference sources (for example, not two gas bills). The proof must correspond with the address information given on the application form.
We will give priority to those applicants who are overcrowded and you must also meet the general conditions of the allocations policy.
If you are single, you can apply for a one-bedroom or bed-sit property. If you have children, you can apply for two-bedroom accommodation. To apply for the scheme, you will need to complete a Housing Register Application Form. Once your application has been processed, we will let you know if you have been successful.
To apply for this scheme, you must complete a Housing Application Form. To download this form, click on the link at the bottom of this page.
If you need help to fill in the application form please call in to your local housing office or contact the Housing Options team. Please let us know if you have an impairment on the form as this may affect your priority for housing. Please also tell us your access and communication needs so we can provide an appropriate service and communicate with you in your preferred format.
If you require help to complete the application form with an interpreter, please contact your local housing office or the Housing Options Team.
