Council Tax

Council Tax

Council tax booklet 2009-10

Islington is a vibrant and exciting borough to live in. Your council tax helps us keep it this way, as we provide a broad range of services – from recycling and leisure centres to schools, and parks and public spaces – all designed to help you in your every day life.

Every home in Islington receives a bill. It doesn’t matter if it’s a house or flat, whether it’s owned or rented. Together, residents contribute more than £80m each year to life in the borough.

This all adds up to a great place to live, work and visit.

Council tax freeze for 2010/11

There can’t be many that haven’t felt the effects of the credit crunch and we've also had to tighten our purse strings and review they way we do things to ensure they're cost effective. Thanks to this, we're delighted to announce we've been able to freeze your council tax rates for the coming financial year.

Please note: the pages below are still current for this financial year, ending 31 March 2010.  We will be announcing further details on next year's payments and exemptions over the coming month in this section, ready for the beginning of next financial year on 1 April 2010.
