Personal Searches

Islington operates an appointment system for personal searches of the Local Land Charges register.

Appointments can be booked by calling our offices between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday with appointments starting at around 10am.

You can choose to access our Local Land Charges information by free inspection of the register. The register is on our computer system and you will see a list of documents on the computer screen. You can make your own notes and no assistance will be given.

You can also purchase our enhanced search which is a printed search report for which we can charge a reasonable fee, which is set at £22. This service can also be accessed via the Council web site and we will return by e-mail, again the fee is £22.

Alternatively you can use our online ordering system by clicking on Property Search on the left. This will enable you to order and pay for your search electronically. On completion your search will be returned by email.The full data set required to complete a Con29 by private companies is ordered by selecting "Information Search". 

Inspections under EIR for Land Charges should be booked by appointment.

Information for Con29 R under EIR is provided on an e-mail basis. Please request by e mailing: personal.search@islington.gov.uk and a response will be sent within 20 working days.

It may be necessary to close the office. As much notice as possible will be given in advance but there may be times when this is not possible.

We operate an appointment system and appointments will be offered to you at the next available slot in our diary. We ask that you attend our offices at the time of the pre-arranged appointment or up to an hour after that time. If you cannot make your allocated time please contact us so that we can check that someone will be able to see you later that day or give you the next available appointment.

Note:

• A good quality plan may be required in advance of your appointment, for the purposes of conducting a personal search

• The search will only include the property being searched and not neighbouring land or properties

Islington Local Land Charges is operating as a one stop shop and is supplying information required to answer questions on a Con29 search. This information will be sold to you at cost where applicable and supplied free if it is publicly available (free) information or if Requested under EIR (within 20 working days). We will refer to the full set of information as the Information search and this should be selected when ordering via our online system.

Personal searches can now be ordered and paid for online, just go to the Property Search link on the left hand side. You will need to give your details, the property details and make payment using a valid debit or credit card.
