Islington operates an appointment system for personal searches of the Local Land Charges register.

Appointments can be booked by calling our offices between 9a.m and 5p.m monday to friday with appointments starting at around 10a.m.

Please note the following:

It may be necessary to close the office. As much notice as possible will be given in advance but there may be times when this is not possible.

We operate an appointment system and appointments will be offered to you at the next available slot in our diary. We ask that you attend our offices at the time of the pre-arranged appointment or up to an hour after that time. If you can not make your allocated time please contact us so that we can check that someone will be able to see you later that day or give you the next available appointment.

The statutory fee for this function is £11 - this fee will entitle you to a printed search, containing information on all registrable items which appear on the Local Land Charges Register i.e. whether there are any financial charges, whether it is in a conservation area, whether it is a listed building etc. etc.

Note:

• A good quality plan may be required in advance of your appointment, for the purposes of conducting a personal search

• The search will only include the property being searched and not neighbouring land or properties

Islington is aware of the Updated guidance for personal searches of the Local Land Charges register and is working towards implementing the recommendations.

Unfortunately we are not in a position yet to provide you with the information which will enable you to answer the Con29R form. Local Land Charges is in discussions with other areas of the Council and awaiting the results of the current consultation on costing. We hope to be able to provide the information you will need either for a charge or for free depending on the type of information in the near future. Please be patient as preparation will take some time and we intend to provide this service as soon as possible.

Personal searches can now be ordered and paid for online, just go to the property search page link on the left hand side. You will need to give your details, the property details and make payment using a valid debit or credit card.
