Street Properties (PFI)

Islington Housing Private Finance Initiative

Private Finance Initiative (PFI) is a way of getting funds into council housing to improve standards. The PFI schemes are contracts that the council sets up for the management, maintenance, and refurbishment of property.

PFI 1 and PFI 2 are both street property contracts, and do not affect block or estate properties. Partners for Improvements in Islington is the organisation selected to deliver these contracts.

The Housing PFI is of importance to the delivery of Islington Council’s housing strategy and to allow the council to achieve the Government’s Decent Homes target by 2010.
