Services and Support for Carers

On these pages you will find information on the services available for carers in Islington. Some of these services are available to all carers, but for some of them, you will need to have a Carers Needs Assessment before you will be able to use them (for example a direct payment or individual budget).

Our services to carers include:

  • Carers Parking Permit (Carers Needs Assessment required - follow the link on the right for more information)
  • Carers Emergency Card scheme (Carers Needs Assessment required)
  • Regular breaks (Carers Needs Assessment required)
  • Carers Direct Payment or Personal Budget (Carers Needs Assessment required)
  • Flexible Breaks scheme (managed by the Islington Carers Centre)
  • Training for carers on a variety of topics

Support to carers from NHS Islington.

NHS Islington is trialling a scheme to provide carers with a break from caring. The scheme is called the NHS Islington Carers Breaks Fund, and the fund is held and managed by the Islington Carers Centre.
