Many local authorities are faced with increasing numbers of people with NRPF seeking social services support. However, there is no statutory guidance on how authorities should respond. This training will enable local authority staff to identify who is eligible and who is not eligible for local authority support and to understand good practice in this area of work.
Duration: 1 day from 10am-4:30pm Location: At your local authority
Social workers (adult - community care and mental health - and children’s services), healthcare professionals, asylum caseworkers, managers, and policy officers. Experience has shown that the NRPF training programme works best where a breadth of practitioners from across the local authority attend, as it is a cross-cutting area requiring a joint-working approach.
This is a general training course covering key issues, legislation and assessments, for adults, children and families, and in regards to human rights obligations. The programme is organised as follows:
The NRPF Network can customise the training programme to a degree, depending on the particular training needs of the local authority. The cost of customising the training programme is £300 per day preparation time.
The NRPF Network also conducts workshops and seminars on specific aspects of NRPF. If you are interested in commissioning a workshop or seminar please contact the Network using the contact details below.
