Charges for Care

Charges for Care

All the services we provide to help people live at home cost money. These costs are met through a combination of government grants, council tax and from the income raised from charging users for the services we provide.

Islington Council wants to help as many people as it can to live at home independently and as safely as possible. We also want the charges for the care and support that we provide to be fair and affordable. So, as well as working out any charge you may have to pay, we will also offer all charge-payers a free benefits check to make sure that they are getting all of the benefits they are entitled to claim.

If we think that you are entitled to extra money, we will help you to claim it and make sure that it is paid. We want to be clear as well as fair about the amount you will have.
