HIV and AIDS

HIV and AIDS

We have Social Workers who specialise in working with people HIV. These social workers are based within the generic social work teams in our three locality social services offices. The services we offer include:

  • information and advice on HIV

  • referrals to and information on voluntary agencies and NHS services for people with HIV

  • practical support with daily activities to help people live independently in the community

  • a Children and Families HIV Social Worker

The main goal of Adult Social Services is to people with a long-term condition or illness to live as independently as possible in the community, preferably in their own home. With your consent we work with a range of professionals and agencies to help assess your needs and provide the services you need.

Please see the page Services for Adults on the left, for information on having an assessment, eligibility criteria for services and charges for care.
