Multi Agency Inclusion Project

Multi Agency Inclusion Project

The Multi-Agency Inclusion Project (MAIP) works with young people, families and communities to minimise youth crime, offending and anti-social behaviour.

MAIP will accept referrals of young people aged 8-17 years where their behaviour is of concern to two or more agencies and where it is agreed a multi-agency response is appropriate. Working in partnership with the young person and their family, key workers will provide advice, support and guidance for the young person and direct them to engage in useful activities.

Representatives from Children’s Services, Education, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, Behaviour Support Service, Young People’s Service, Youth Offending Service, Anti Social Behaviour Team and the Police work together to commission services that can support the young person and their family.

The support plan is monitored and reviewed for up to six months.

MAIP receives funding from the Safer Islington Partnership in order to meet the following aims:

  • to meet Every Child Matters outcomes

  • to prevent youth crime and anti-social behaviour in Islington

  • to improve the social, welfare and education outcomes for children and young people

  • to reduce the risk of children and young people becoming involved in offending and anti-social behaviour

  • to contribute to the development of a multi-agency youth crime prevention strategy for Islington
