How To Apply

Please contact us for details of our information meetings, which are held frequently about every four weeks.

You can call us on the phone on 0800 723 0428 to have an information pack posted to you and to find out about the next information meeting date. You can also email us for details at fostering@islington.gov.uk with your postal address or if you prefer, we can email you an electronic copy of the information pack that will come in a PDF format.

To help us improve our recruitment we ask if you could please quote where you found out about fostering with Islington when contacting the service.

The information meeting provides the opportunity to hear more about fostering, the process of application and to also meet some of the carers who foster for Islington and see how the experience has enriched their lives.

These meetings are held at the Town Hall on Upper Street, N1 from 6pm - 8pm. There will be applications forms available on the night with advice on-hand on how to complete them.

Successful applicants will be visited at home and invited to a three-day training course, which is held every eight weeks. Full references on all applicants will be taken up at a later stage.

Due to the guidelines we must follow, the process for becoming a foster carer can take up to six months – please be patient.

If you have any questions about the process please contact:
