Islington Council

Aquaterra run the council's leisure centres. They have a number of swimming sessions, aqua aerobic sessions, and exercise classes both in leisure centres and in community care centres.

EverActive, a leisure listing for senior citizens in Islington, is produced to encourage Islington residents to become more active. The brochure provides information about existing services, the free 60+ Izz Card, the facilities available and new activities in the area. Aquaterra Leisure has produced the brochure in partnership with Islington Council.     Aquaterra also offer the Izz card, which gives a discount of up to 25% off leisure services and discounts to selected stores in the borough.

      Most of the theatres and cinemas in the borough offer concessions for older people. Shape ticket scheme offers discounted theatre tickets to older people across the capital.

      Age Concern Islington runs two clubs in the borough with free membership for a huge range of activities.

      These include indoor bowls, ballroom dancing, tai chi, painting, pottery, cake decorating and many more.
