Islington Council is proposing to rebuild Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Language College as part of Islington’s Schools for the Future initiative.

Planning Guidance

As part of the next phase of Islington’s Building Schools for the future scheme, we are putting together Planning Guidance for Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Language College (EGA) and we want your thoughts and feedback in writing by Friday 29 Feb 2008 (see below for details).

The purpose of the Planning Guidance is to provide planning and design advice for the development of the school site, and to assist in the determination of future planning applications.

The guidance document informs the community and the council’s preferred partner for BSF, transform Schools, about planning policies and objectives for development of the site.

It sets out a vision on how future redevelopment should be carried out. The final version will be produced in partnership with the school, the council’s planning and education services, and in consultation with residents.

The final version of the Draft Planning Guidance will be presented to the West Area Committee on the 11 March 2008 for adoption.

There will be further statutory public consultation as part of the detailed planning application process early in 2009.
