Walking is a great way to exercise! Did you know that regular brisk walking could significantly reduce your chances of developing heart disease? Islington Health Walks provide local residents with an opportunity to walk regularly in a relaxed, friendly environment and to enjoy some beautiful green spaces. Everyone is encouraged to come along, regardless of age or fitness level. The walks are suitable for anyone who is just starting to exercise and older people are particularly welcome. The walks are free and led by a dedicated team of trained, volunteer Walk Leaders. At the end of the walk participants are invited to relax in a local café for refreshments.
Participants are advised to arrive 10 minutes prior to the advertised start time for their walk and to wear comfortable shoes. Any participants with health concerns should consult their GP before coming on their first walk.
Islington Health Walks are partly funded by the Islington Strategic Partnership.
