Recycling for Charities and Faith Organisations

Islington Council provides free recycling collections to charities and places of worship/faith organisations.

We provide sacks or outdoor recycling bins free of charge for this service. Collections can take place on a weekly or fortnightly basis. The items we collect are:

  • White and coloured paper

  • Newspapers and magazines

  • Yellow pages and telephone directories

  • Envelopes and junk mail

  • Household plastic packaging and tetrapaks (e.g. juice cartons)

  • Mixed glass bottles and jars

  • Metal tins, cans and foil

  • Aerosol Cans

  • Cardboard - brown and white and lightweight (eg cereal boxes)

Items we do not collect are:

  • Paper towels

  • Polystyrene

  • Black bags

  • All other waste
