A large number of recycling points are located across the borough.

Nine battery recycling points have been installed in libraries across the borough, providing you with convenient battery recycling facilities. All portable batteries between 1.5 volts and 9 volts can be placed in them for recycling. The new battery recycling points can be found in the following libraries. Due to the small amount of mercury contained within them, low energy lightbulbs should not be put in your household rubbish bin or in your recycling container.

Printer Cartridges can be taken to the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre (Hornsey Street, off Holloway Road, N7 8TP) for recycling. £1 per recyclable inkjet cartridge collected will be donated to the Mayor's chosen charity.
Good news - plastic bags can now be put in with your mixed recycling! Plastic bags can also be recycled at the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre. To find out more about the centre, click on the related link on the right of this page. Several supermarkets in Islington also have plastic bag recycling points.
Good news - cartons (Tetrapaks) can also be put in with your mixed recycling or in any of the mixed recycling banks located around the borough.
