Compost Offer

Recycled EcoPark compost made from your organic waste!

30 litre bags of recycled EcoPark compost can now be bought from the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre (HRRC). They cost £3 each.

How do I buy a bag of compost?

  • Put £3 into the vending machine*
  • Take your token and give it to one of the staff
  • Take away your bag of compost

* You must come with the correct change - no change is given. The vending machine only accepts 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins.

We regret that pedestrians and cyclists cannot purchase compost bags as only cars are permitted to access the HRRC for health and safety reasons.

Need a lot of compost? You can get it delivered to your door!

Compost made from your food and garden waste

The compost is made at the EcoPark composting centre in Edmonton, North London. It is produced using kitchen and garden waste collected from homes in north London, including Islington. The raw materials are shredded, composted and matured under carefully controlled conditions.

To watch a video of the process in action, click on the What Happens to Food and Green Waste link on the right. Alternatively, click on the London Waste - Compost Centre link on the right to see an interactive graphic showing what happens.

The compost produced is a quality product that undergoes regular testing to conform to BSI PAS100, a British standard which confirms this product is safe and reliable with high performance. To find out more about PAS100, please click on the Compost specification details link on the right of this page.
