We all know about repairing our washing machine or television, however Islington has its repair and reuse shop Bright Sparks that repairs small electrical items. Even if you don't want the item back they can repair it and pop it in their shop for someone else to buy.
Remember it may be more economical to hire or borrow items, particularly for those one off DIY jobs.
You can recycle your used batteries at libraries and larger retailers e.g. supermarkets.
Consider using rechargeable batteries instead.
