Street Management Services

Street Management Services

A New Way of Working

Waste Management is now known as Street Environment Services.

As part of the reorganisation, the service will be divided into four teams that will correspond to the North, South, East and West areas of the borough, mirroring the four area committees.

The teams will be responsible for raising the quality of the local street environment within their areas and implementing service improvements to achieve the One Islington goal of a greener, cleaner and safer borough.

The new structure will provide Street Environment with an opportunity to develop closer relationships with local residents. The Street Environment Officers will be tackling problems at a local level, improving service delivery and encouraging resident involvement through a more visible and pro-active service.

The teams will maintain a clean and safe streetscene, becoming custodians of their areas. They will offer a firm but friendly service, presenting residents and local businesses with a clear explanation of Islington’s expectations, whilst making sure that we deliver to the highest standards.

What Do the Teams Do?

  • street cleansing
  • refuse collections
  • recycling collections
  • fly tip investigations
  • graffiti/fly posting removal
  • monitoring ICSL contract
